JPMorgan shifts leadership in workplace solutions unit

After more than two decades of service, Vince La Padula is vacating his role at JPMorgan Chase to join the Internal Revenue Service. His departure triggers a strategic leadership change within the bank’s workplace solutions division, with internal veteran Ben Walter stepping in to oversee the growing business unit.

Walter moves into the role after successfully managing Chase for Business, a division serving over 7.4 million small businesses across the United States. His background includes a tenure as the global retail CEO at specialty insurer Hiscox, alongside previous roles at BlackRock and the Boston Consulting Group. He now takes responsibility for the bank’s equity compensation and share plan services, a segment known as Global Shares before its 2022 acquisition by JPMorgan.

La Padula leaves behind a track record spanning 23 years, during which he was instrumental in scaling the workplace solutions arm. According to Mary Callahan Erdoes, CEO of J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management, La Padula doubled both assets and participants within the division over the past three years. His transition to the IRS marks the end of a long tenure that included significant expansion of the bank's lending franchise.
