Plei Cuts Pickup Soccer Costs to $6 for Summer 2026

With North America hosting the world's premier soccer tournament, the platform Plei is slashing costs for grassroots players. The new "2026 for $6" initiative aims to democratize access to the sport by offering thousands of pickup games at half the national average price throughout the summer months.

Starting June 11, players can access over 20,000 hours of field time across hundreds of facilities by searching "SUMMER" in the Plei app. This move arrives as outdoor soccer participation in the U.S. hits record highs, with approximately 16.8 million players recorded in 2025. Despite this surge in popularity, high facility fees and fragmented scheduling have long served as barriers to casual participation.

Sebastian Duque, co-founder and CEO of Plei, noted that the initiative addresses the increasing difficulty of finding affordable field space. By partnering with venues like Atlanta’s Ventura Indoor, Houston’s Pegaso HTX, and New York’s The Fields Sports Complex, the company is attempting to stabilize the fragmented pickup ecosystem. The campaign extends beyond simple discounts, incorporating community events and digital storytelling to anchor the platform as a central hub for the sport's growing American audience.
