Beyond the Medicare initiative, the company is targeting the cash-pay market by launching a $49 virtual consultation service through its MinuteClinic platform. Available to adults aged 18 to 64 in 47 states and Washington, D.C., the service provides direct access to licensed clinicians for weight-loss evaluations and potential prescriptions. For patients who do not qualify for federal subsidies, the pharmacy chain confirmed it will continue accepting manufacturer vouchers, coupons, and various third-party discount cards to help mitigate financial strain.
To manage the common physical side effects associated with GLP-1 treatments, CVS is also expanding its inventory of over-the-counter products and increasing pharmacist-led support. These measures aim to streamline the patient experience for those navigating complex medication regimens, shifting the company’s role from simple drug dispenser to a more comprehensive partner in clinical weight management.
