The expansion marks a strategic shift for the company, which has built its reputation on AI-driven takeoffs and estimating for over 1,200 contractors across the U.S. and Canada. While preconstruction tools helped these firms scale their bid volume, the company identified a recurring bottleneck in the transition to the build phase. Contractors frequently struggled with disconnected drawings and last-minute clashes between mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.
BIM CoPilot functions as an extension of a contractor’s internal team rather than a software-only platform. Users submit project documents—typically 2D PDFs or CAD files—and Beam AI’s engineers manage the modeling, clash detection, and documentation process. By adhering to industry standards like ISO 19650 and AIA BIM guidelines, the service aims to produce a single, coordinated 3D model ready for field installation. The service is now available as a standalone, project-based offering, allowing firms to integrate BIM management into their existing workflows without switching vendors.
