Trina Storage Debuts 25MWh Integrated DC+AC System in Munich

At Intersolar Europe 2026, Trina Storage unveiled the Elementa + Electra, a 13.8MVA/25MWh integrated solution designed to streamline utility-scale energy storage. The system merges advanced battery storage with upgraded AC power conversion, aiming to reduce site complexity and accelerate project commissioning for large-scale renewable applications.

The architecture centers on a compact, highly integrated design that improves power density and site utilization. By incorporating an auxiliary transformer, the system minimizes its physical footprint while boosting energy throughput. Technical specifications include a three-tier liquid cooling system that maintains cell temperature differences below 2.5°C, coupled with a 10ms full-power response time from the Electra platform. These features, along with grid-forming and black-start capabilities, address the requirements of modern, demanding grid environments.

Trina Storage emphasizes that the solution is built to lower total project costs through containerized transportation and extensive pre-commissioning. Factory-level validation of the integrated DC-AC architecture reportedly cuts on-site installation time by as much as 50%. The launch follows the recognition of the Elementa 3 system as a finalist in The smarter E AWARD 2026. Shawn Deng, head of global product and system integration, noted that the development targets the industry's shift toward simplified deployment and improved project economics. Alongside this hardware, the company is also exhibiting its new 587Ah battery cell technology at the Munich exhibition.
