The rebranding centers on the acronym SBP—Science, Breakthroughs, and Patients—designed to unify the company’s mission of global health. Chairwoman Theresa Tse identified 2026 as the inaugural year of this globalization strategy, which focuses on dual-track growth: acquiring innovative assets while establishing direct commercial footprints in key international territories. This transition is backed by a shift toward AI-driven R&D and the cultivation of an international talent base.
Financial performance underscores this trajectory, with the company securing significant capital through strategic alliances. It has completed four major out-licensing deals with multinational corporations, netting over US$1 billion in upfront payments and a total deal value potential exceeding US$7 billion. Notable 2026 agreements include a US$1.53 billion licensing deal with Sanofi for the dual JAK/ROCK inhibitor rovadicitinib and a US$1.9 billion agreement with AstraZeneca for the respiratory drug TQC3721. These moves solidify SBP Group’s position as a key player in oncology, metabolic, and respiratory therapeutic areas.
