The company developed this service to address mounting supply chain volatility, including climate-related navigation restrictions in the Panama Canal and ongoing delays within U.S. rail networks. By integrating priority transshipment at its own Los Angeles-area warehouses with dedicated team-driver systems for long-haul routes, the firm aims to bypass standard bottlenecks and provide a more reliable alternative for trans-Pacific shipping.
Security and visibility are core components of the new offering. Each shipment is equipped with multifunctional tracking devices that provide real-time data on cargo location and transit conditions. These sensors track temperature, humidity, and physical impact, while a specialized light-sensor alert system notifies operators of unauthorized container openings to mitigate theft risks. This expansion builds upon the existing NX Ocean Fast Track program, which was introduced in June to streamline the initial stages of container movement from Asia to North America.
