The deal formalizes a long-standing partnership between the two companies, which have collaborated for years on integrating CrestOptics modules into Evident’s existing microscope platforms. For CrestOptics, the acquisition provides the manufacturing scale and global distribution network necessary to expand the reach of its X-Light and DeepSIM product lines. Despite the ownership change, CrestOptics will maintain its headquarters and R&D facilities in Rome, continuing to serve as a technology provider for the broader microscopy industry.
Evident CEO Wes Pringle noted that the integration of CrestOptics’ engineering capabilities addresses the increasing demand for faster and gentler imaging in complex biological research. Renato Giacobbo Scavo, CEO of CrestOptics, stated that the move allows the company to accelerate its innovation roadmap while leveraging Evident’s established applications expertise. The collaboration is expected to enhance offerings for laboratories requiring sub-diffraction imaging and high-content analysis, further bridging the gap between basic widefield systems and advanced confocal requirements.
