The 'Help Save a Life' initiative serves as a cornerstone of Bristol Myers Squibb’s annual Global Patient Week, transforming corporate social responsibility into a tangible healthcare resource. For those living with thalassemia, routine transfusions are not optional; they are essential lifelines. By aligning the event with the lead-up to Blood Cancer Awareness Month, the organizers aim to address the persistent demand for blood products across the UAE.

Her Highness Sheikha Sheikha Bint Saif Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the Emirates Thalassemia Society, praised the donors as quiet heroes whose consistent participation lightens the burden on affected families. Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Science Park, noted that the hub’s unique concentration of life science professionals provides an ideal environment to foster such impactful health collaborations.

Mayada Al Ahmad, General Manager of Bristol Myers Squibb for GCC countries, emphasized that the drive serves as a visceral reminder of the company's patient-centered mission. By facilitating direct community action, the program ensures that individuals navigating serious blood conditions maintain reliable access to the care required for an active life.
