Slang AI Debuts Superhost to Automate High-End Restaurant Hospitality

New York-based Slang AI has launched Superhost, an artificial intelligence platform designed to function as a digital team member for full-service restaurants. Moving beyond basic scripted responses, the system utilizes memory-aware technology and emotional intelligence to manage reservations, recognize regulars, and handle complex inquiries in 97 languages.

The hospitality industry faces a persistent struggle: balancing razor-thin margins and labor shortages with the rising demand for 24/7, personalized guest interaction. Traditional voice automation often falls short by failing to grasp nuance or tone, leading to missed revenue from unbooked tables and unanswered questions. Superhost attempts to bridge this gap by acting as a proactive concierge rather than a reactive answering machine. The software integrates with existing systems like OpenTable to facilitate bookings and can be customized to reflect a brand’s specific tone, ranging from fine-dining formality to casual warmth.

Beyond basic task management, the platform introduces a memory layer that recalls guest preferences, allergies, and visit histories. This data-driven approach allows the system to recognize returning patrons and provide tailored responses. According to CEO Alex Sambvani, the goal is to provide restaurants with a teammate that anticipates needs rather than just another bot. Early adopters, including Gusto54 Restaurant Group and KNEAD Hospitality + Design, report that the tool allows front-of-house staff to focus on the immediate needs of diners in the room while maintaining high-quality communication across phone and web channels.
