London to Host Fifth Annual AlBaraka Summit on Islamic Finance

Global financial leaders, policymakers, and scholars convene at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London on October 13–14, 2026, for the fifth AlBaraka Summit. The event aims to bridge the gap between ethical Islamic principles and practical economic application across international markets and regulatory frameworks.

The two-day conference, themed "Ethics in Action: Rebuilding Foundations and Advancing the Global Impact of the Islamic Economy," seeks to integrate justice, accountability, and social responsibility into modern financial systems. Participants will address a broad agenda covering Islamic banking, capital markets, and the role of social finance instruments such as Waqf, Zakat, and Takaful. According to Yousef Hassan Khalawi, Secretary-General of the AlBaraka Forum, the primary challenge remains ensuring that these foundational principles transition from theoretical discourse into tangible economic impact.

The speaker lineup includes high-profile figures such as Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, Chairman of the Shari'ah Council at AAOIFI; Shakeel Ahmed Yousuf Mohamed, Mauritius' Minister of Housing and Lands; and Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, Nigeria's Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning. Sessions will explore the evolution of regulatory foundations, the growth of entrepreneurship, and the integration of digital transformation within the Islamic economy. Beyond banking, the program includes a Strategic Thinking Centre workshop focused on demographic shifts and the expansion of Islamic economic influence globally.
