The vessels are currently under construction for IWS Fleet, a subsidiary of Integrated Wind Solutions ASA, with delivery scheduled between 2029 and 2030. This order marks a continuation of the collaboration between the shipbuilder and MacGregor, focusing on the integration of three-dimensional motion-compensated technology designed to enhance safety and operational reliability during offshore wind maintenance.
Ms Shanshan Xu, SCM Director at Nantong Rainbow, noted that the technical alignment between the equipment and the specific requirements of the Skywalker-class vessels drove the selection. Following the installation, MacGregor will provide ongoing support through its global service network to maintain uptime during critical offshore missions. This project adds to MacGregor’s portfolio of offshore solutions, which generated approximately 830 million euros in sales during 2025.
