Union Labor Coalition Opens New Wellness Center in Rock Island

Thousands of union members in Illinois now have access to a new, no-cost wellness facility in Rock Island. The MCL Health Center, a partnership between Premise Health and several labor organizations, officially opened its doors this month to provide comprehensive medical services to over 2,700 local workers and their families.

Located at 7752 38th Street West, the facility began operations on September 15, with a formal grand opening held on October 3. The center serves members of the National Coalition of Labor, the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150, and the Teamsters Local 301 Health and Welfare Fund.

The site offers a broad spectrum of care, including primary medical attention, behavioral health support, chiropractic services, physical and occupational therapy, and onsite provider dispensing. By centralizing these services, the partnership aims to foster long-term relationships between patients and providers, a strategy supported by data suggesting that regular primary care increases the likelihood of early chronic disease detection.

This Rock Island location expands a growing network of wellness centers operated by Premise Health across the Midwest. Similar facilities are already active in Illinois locations such as Northbrook, Grayslake, Elgin, Joliet, and Utica, as well as sites in Kansas City, Missouri, and Merrillville, Indiana. For union leadership, the investment represents a commitment to providing accessible, high-quality healthcare that remains close to home for the regional workforce.
