The operator’s performance showed significant regional divergence across its network. Growth in Colombia and Puerto Rico provided upward momentum, with passenger numbers rising 5.7% and 3.1% respectively. Brazil also posted a 2.6% increase, while Ecuador saw a 1.7% rise. These gains were balanced by contraction in other key markets: Mexico experienced a 6.1% decline, Costa Rica fell by 6.1%, and Curacao saw a 0.9% decrease.
Mexico’s performance remains a critical factor for the group, with domestic traffic dropping 3.7% and international volume falling 9.8%. In contrast, Colombia’s domestic market expanded by 5.9%, supported by a 4.9% increase in international travelers. ASUR currently manages 36 airport concessions across the Americas, including the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan and major hubs in Mexico and Colombia. The company’s recent acquisition of CPC Aeroportos expanded its footprint into Brazil, which now represents a substantial portion of its diversified portfolio.
