His tenure as president since 2025 served as the final stage of a long-planned succession strategy. Novakovic, who took charge in 2013, leaves behind a company that generated $52.6 billion in revenue last year.
Independent lead director Laura J. Schumacher credited Novakovic with building a capable leadership team and establishing a clear strategic vision during her long tenure. The transition ensures Novakovic remains involved in a senior capacity while Deep takes full control of day-to-day operations at the Reston-based aerospace and defense corporation.
