Nomura Co. Net Profit Declines to 3.41 Billion Yen

Nomura Co. Ltd. reported a significant contraction in profitability for the half-year ending August 31, with net profit falling to 3.41 billion yen from 4.44 billion yen during the same period last year. The decline reflects broader pressure on the company's financial performance across major reporting categories.

Revenue for the Japanese firm dropped to 73.32 billion yen, down from the 80.53 billion yen recorded in the previous year. Operating profit mirrored this downward trend, settling at 5.26 billion yen compared to the 6.90 billion yen reported in 2025. Pretax profit also saw a decline, reaching 5.43 billion yen against the prior year's 7.03 billion yen.

Diluted earnings per share for the period stood at 30.57 yen, a decrease from the 39.81 yen reported in the previous half-year. These results, which align with Japanese accounting standards, indicate a tightening of margins for the company as it navigates the current fiscal environment.
