While these tools are designed for personal check-ins rather than clinical diagnosis, they offer a continuous data stream during a period when mental health can shift rapidly between standard medical visits. The feature is currently available as an add-on for the free My Village app and is included in the premium Village Plus subscription.
This partnership coincides with the October 10th launch of VillageFor’s #AskHerTwice initiative, timed for World Mental Health Day. The campaign targets the common reflex to mask struggles with a polite "I'm fine," encouraging families to look deeper into the emotional realities of motherhood. Canary Speech CEO Henry O'Connell noted that vocal analysis provides a non-invasive way for women to monitor their own patterns, effectively capturing signals that traditional screenings might miss. By combining these biomarkers with existing tools like the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale, the companies aim to provide a more comprehensive, longitudinal view of a mother’s mental state.
