Sørensen, who officially assumed the chief executive role on October 6, 2026, arrives with three decades of experience in the life sciences sector. His background includes a long tenure as Vice President of Investor Relations and Communications at Bavarian Nordic, a position that Board Chair Søren Maarssø believes will help the company bridge the gap between scientific innovation and capital market requirements. The leadership shift marks a strategic pivot for the Danish company, which currently juggles preclinical development of central nervous system and immune system drug candidates alongside its contract development and manufacturing services.
While Rose and Breum are exiting their operational duties to pursue new ventures, they remain invested in the firm as shareholders. The transition comes as TETRAPHARM looks to scale its proprietary ZYNDIKATE technology, designed to improve the formulation of challenging, poorly water-soluble molecules. Sørensen stated his immediate focus lies in translating the company’s existing scientific potential into measurable progress and sustained value for partners.
