General Petraeus to Address U.S. Aluminum Supply Chain Vulnerabilities

Decades of market manipulation by China and Russia have crippled domestic military-grade aluminum production, forcing the United States into a reliance on foreign adversaries for essential defense materials. On October 16, General David H. Petraeus will headline a dialogue at the National Press Club to confront these mounting national security threats.

The American Primary Aluminum Association has organized the session to highlight how the erosion of domestic manufacturing capacity compromises the production of aircraft, armored vehicles, and munitions. General Petraeus, a central figure in post-9/11 military strategy, will analyze the geopolitical fallout of this dependency during a fireside chat.

Joining the discussion are economist Adam Hersh, who will present a new study on the sector's economic impact, and Century Aluminum CEO Jesse Gary. The event serves as a platform to address the strategic necessity of reclaiming primary metal production. Media representatives are required to RSVP by October 15 to secure access to the proceedings.
