Iles’ departure follows a tenure focused on capital allocation and strengthening the company's financial structure. Chairman and CEO Eric Sills emphasized that the resignation is voluntary and unrelated to any disputes regarding company policies or financial reporting. Standard Motor Products confirmed that Iles will remain in his post through the end of October to facilitate a handover.
James J. Burke brings significant institutional knowledge to the interim role, having previously served as the company’s CFO from 1999 to 2019. Following that tenure, he acted as Chief Operating Officer and, most recently, as an executive advisor. The company stated that this leadership change will not impact its strategic growth initiatives or its scheduled third-quarter earnings report, which is set for release on the morning of October 30, 2026.
