The grant aims to address urgent requirements such as food, emergency shelter, and health care services while preparing for the rebuilding phase. Namrata Yadav, chief culture and philanthropy officer at Truist, emphasized that the foundation prioritizes long-term community resilience by partnering with organizations that possess deep local expertise.

Beyond external philanthropy, the foundation maintains an internal support mechanism for its staff. The Truist One Team Fund provides financial assistance to employees facing hardship after natural disasters. In 2025, this program fulfilled 275 grant requests totaling $797,000, funded through both foundation capital and individual employee contributions. This structure allows the institution to balance immediate disaster response with a sustained commitment to neighborhood recovery.
