Catholic Charities USA Opens Relief Fund for Hurricane Isaias Victims

As forecasters track Hurricane Isaias toward the Gulf Coast with warnings of severe storm surges and destructive winds, Catholic Charities USA has launched an emergency relief campaign. The organization guarantees that every dollar raised will flow directly to local agencies providing food, shelter, and humanitarian aid to displaced residents.

CCUSA President and CEO Kerry Alys Robinson urged public support, noting that local staff and volunteers are preparing to deliver immediate comfort to those in the path of the storm. The agency's disaster response strategy focuses on both the initial crisis and the lengthy rebuilding process that follows major weather events.

This initiative builds on a national infrastructure that manages roughly 60 disaster responses annually, ranging from hurricanes to wildfires. With a network of 170 agencies, the organization maintains a capacity to serve 16 million people annually across the United States and its territories, regardless of their religious affiliation or personal background.
