The expansion centers on three utility-scale solar projects currently under development in Texas and Ohio. These assets are slated to reach commercial operation by the first quarter of 2027, with TotalEnergies maintaining operational control following the transaction's expected close in 2026. The power generated from these sites will either be sold to third-party buyers or marketed directly through TotalEnergies' established channels.
This move deepens the collaboration established by the two firms in 2025, which initially launched with 1.4 gigawatts of capacity. For TotalEnergies, the acquisition aligns with a broader corporate push to expand its global renewable footprint, which reached over 37 gigawatts of gross capacity by mid-2026. The company maintains an ambitious long-term target of achieving more than 100 terawatt-hours of net electricity production by 2030.
