The Council Bluffs-based producer now commands a total output of 230 million gallons of ethanol per year across its Iowa and Nebraska facilities. President and CEO Eric Fobes stated the acquisition aligns with a disciplined growth strategy focused on securing high-quality assets within productive agricultural regions. By integrating the Ord facility, the company gains a second origination region and increased scale in the marketing of distillers grains and corn oil.

Management intends to retain the existing workforce at the Nebraska site and continue local grain purchasing operations. While the financial terms of the transaction remain confidential, the expansion provides SIRE with greater operational diversity and geographic reach. Legal advisory services for the acquisition were provided by the Omaha-based firm McGrath North Mullin & Kratz.
