Lockheed Martin Targets Texas for Major Munitions Expansion

A $300 million investment in Grand Prairie, Texas, serves as the cornerstone for Lockheed Martin’s effort to bolster U.S. munitions production. The aerospace giant plans to scale its manufacturing footprint by over 185,000 square feet, fueling a broader initiative to add 6,000 new jobs to its domestic workforce.

Lockheed Martin Targets Texas for Major Munitions Expansion

The Grand Prairie site will see its operational capacity surge as the company transforms 85,000 square feet of existing office space into high-tech production zones, complemented by 100,000 square feet of new construction. This infrastructure push aims to accommodate increased demand for specialized hardware.

Technological integration remains a priority for the project. Lockheed Martin is partnering with Hadrian to install an automated machining cell, a move designed to streamline output. This advanced equipment is slated to come online by early 2027, marking a shift toward more efficient, automated fabrication processes within the facility.
