Fire Near Ras Tanura Oil Hub Follows Wave of Houthi Missile Strikes

Three ballistic missiles and four drones targeted Saudi Arabian infrastructure on Tuesday, sparking a blaze near the critical Ras Tanura oil export facility. While Riyadh officials reported the fire was quickly contained, the escalation marks another violent chapter in the ongoing conflict between Saudi-led forces and Houthi militants.

Fire Near Ras Tanura Oil Hub Follows Wave of Houthi Missile Strikes

The Saudi military confirmed it intercepted the incoming projectiles, which were launched toward the Kingdom's Eastern and Southern regions. Despite claims of containment, the extent of damage to the Persian Gulf hub remains unverified. This latest incident follows a series of high-profile strikes this month, including a deadly attack on Riyadh’s international airport and a reported assault on Saudi Aramco’s administrative offices in Dharan.

Hostilities have intensified as the Saudi-led coalition moves to reclaim territory in southwest Yemen, a strategic zone commanding the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Fears of supply chain disruption persist, particularly after the Houthis claimed to target pumping stations along the East-West pipeline earlier this week. Although Saudi authorities have not verified the pipeline strike, the recent impact of drone debris near the Shaybah oilfield processing facility has kept regional energy markets on edge regarding the security of vital export routes.
