The partnership integrates IdentifAI’s multi-modal detection software directly into the F-Secure Embedded portfolio, which serves over 200 digital service providers globally. By embedding this layer of verification into existing security infrastructure, the companies hope to move deepfake protection from a niche enterprise tool to a standard consumer safeguard. The technology functions by analyzing media in real time to identify AI-generated patterns, a move necessitated by the rising sophistication of phishing attacks that now frequently utilize cloned voices and hyper-realistic synthetic visuals.
IdentifAI, an Italian startup that secured €5 million in funding last July, maintains a strict focus on detection without building generative models of its own. CEO Marco Ramilli stated that this independent approach avoids the conflicts of interest found among vendors attempting to simultaneously develop and police AI content. For F-Secure, the collaboration addresses a critical gap in their current protection offerings, as traditional defenses against malicious links and text-based messages fail to account for the growing prevalence of personalized, AI-manipulated deception that targets over 56% of consumers monthly.
