Thornburg Expands ETF Lineup with New Global Income Fund

Santa Fe-based Thornburg Investment Management is expanding its actively managed ETF platform with the launch of the Thornburg Premium Income Builder ETF (THOR). The new fund targets long-term capital growth by blending global dividend-paying equities with a flexible, fundamentally driven options strategy in a volatile market environment.

The fund is managed by industry veterans Brian McMahon and Matt Burdett, who currently oversee the firm's flagship Income Builder strategy. By integrating an options-based approach, the managers aim to balance income generation with downside resilience, catering to investors looking for durable businesses amidst shifting economic conditions. This launch follows an 18-month period of rapid growth for the firm’s ETF platform, which has accumulated over $700 million in assets.

Thornburg, a firm with $60 billion in assets, continues to lean into its high-conviction, active management roots. According to Burdett, the introduction of THOR reflects a broader commitment to providing innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of financial professionals and institutional clients. The fund joins a diverse range of investment vehicles offered by the Santa Fe-based firm, which has maintained a global presence in equity and multi-asset markets since its founding in 1982.
