Singapore to Host Advanced Materials Discovery Hub

A new collaborative venture between ATLANT 3D, A*STAR IMRE, and the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster aims to accelerate materials research in Singapore. The partners signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish the Advanced Materials Development Hub, designed to integrate AI-driven discovery with high-throughput atomic layer processing for industrial semiconductors.

The A-HUB initiative focuses on bridging the gap between laboratory-scale research and industrial application. By utilizing ATLANT 3D’s proprietary Direct Atomic Layer Processing (DALP®) technology, the hub intends to optimize the synthesis of functional thin films. This workflow is expected to support advancements in silicon photonics, high-end packaging, and semiconductor manufacturing.

Dr. Maksym Plakhotnyuk, CEO of ATLANT 3D, described the initiative as the world’s first high-throughput materials innovation foundry. Prof. Loh Xian Jun of A*STAR IMRE noted that the integration of atomic layer processing into existing workflows will shorten the cycle for developing new materials, while NAMIC CEO Dr. Ho Chaw Sing emphasized the platform's role in scaling digital, closed-loop additive processes from the lab to the factory floor.
