He Mingke emphasized that traditional healthcare models, focused on post-incident claims, fail to address the complexities of an aging population. To bridge the decade-long gap between total lifespan and healthy years, Ping An is pivoting toward early intervention strategies designed to delay functional decline and reduce disability risks. This approach forms the core of the company's evolving “integrated finance plus health and senior care” strategy.
To operationalize this shift, the firm is partnering with the Asia-Pacific Longevity Medicine Society to release the white paper Centenarian Health Standards: From Passive Healthcare to a Proactive Health Paradigm. Simultaneously, Ping An is launching the China Health Longevity Index and upgrading its internal management systems. By integrating financial protection with systematic health monitoring, the group aims to move beyond transactional insurance toward continuous, supportive care for its 250 million retail customers.
