The core constraint in the current AI landscape is not a lack of ambition, but a shortage of specialized talent. While most firms struggle to source AI Architects and Forward Deployed Engineers, Insight Global is leveraging its existing network—which places tens of thousands of technical professionals annually—to staff its new division. Led by Marcus Bergström, who brings eight years of experience in production-grade AI, the practice utilizes persistent, cross-functional teams rather than traditional project-based staffing to ensure institutional knowledge compounds over time.
Technologically, the firm is moving away from bespoke, project-only development. IG Labs has introduced a reusable foundation, headlined by a Semantic Index Engine designed to unify fragmented, unstructured data into AI-ready knowledge. This infrastructure allows the team to bypass basic pipeline construction and focus on workflow design and integration. According to CEO Bert Bean, the firm is simply aiming its established recruiting machine at the industry’s most critical bottleneck. With over 40% of new consulting intakes at Insight Global now AI-related, the initiative represents a shift from advising on potential to shipping functional, agentic systems that integrate directly into existing organizational cultures.
