BIOLASE and MegaGen Invest $1 Million to Overhaul Corona Facility

Nearly $1 million in construction and infrastructure upgrades is transforming the BIOLASE manufacturing hub in Corona, California. The project aims to bolster production capacity for Waterlase and Epic dental laser systems while cementing the facility as a center for precision engineering following the company’s integration into the MegaGen portfolio.

The capital injection covers extensive physical renovations, including the construction of a new cleanroom and the installation of an upgraded fiber glovebox. These enhancements are designed to improve assembly precision and manufacturing efficiency for sensitive laser components. Beyond technical hardware, the project includes expanded employee spaces, updated warehouse layouts, and new gowning areas to support rigorous quality control standards.

This expansion aligns with a broader strategic shift in the company’s commercial operations. Starting July 1, 2026, MegaGen America will take a primary role in supporting BIOLASE’s U.S. sales, training, and customer service efforts. Internationally, MegaGen will leverage its existing distribution network to broaden the global reach of BIOLASE technology. Jung Hwan Lim, COO and Senior Vice President at BIOLASE, noted that the investment reflects a need for disciplined manufacturing execution to keep pace with the growing adoption of dental laser tools. By aligning BIOLASE’s engineering capabilities with MegaGen’s commercial infrastructure, the companies plan to streamline access to advanced dental care technologies for clinicians worldwide.
