Sentien Launches AI Shield Against Phone Scams Targeting Seniors

With Americans losing $60 billion annually to phone scams, Stamford-based Sentien Corporation has introduced SeniorSafe, an autonomous AI service designed to intercept fraudulent calls in real time. The platform aims to protect 62 million seniors by neutralizing both human-operated cons and sophisticated AI-driven deepfakes across all telecommunications channels.

Traditional spam blockers often fail because they rely on static lists of nuisance numbers, leaving users vulnerable to evolving tactics. SeniorSafe operates differently by monitoring the content of the conversation itself to detect malicious intent. According to Chief AI Engineer Eric Niemeyer, the system intervenes during the call to prevent the fraud conversion, effectively removing human error from the equation and boasting a 99% success rate in stopping scam attempts.

The service functions in the cloud, requiring no active input from the user, which is a critical design choice for the elderly demographic. It covers a broad spectrum of communication methods, including landlines, VoIP, and mobile devices on both iOS and Android. While direct consumer enrollment is currently available via the company’s website, Sentien CEO Jonathan Wolinsky noted that the firm plans to roll out formal integrations with major cable, wireless, and telecommunications carriers starting in the third quarter of 2026. This launch marks a significant attempt to disrupt a fraudulent industry that experts estimate has grown into a $4 billion market in the United States alone.
