Intelivation Technologies Completes First Advantage-C Ti3D Implantation

Dr. Victor Hsu of Rothman Orthopaedics has performed the first clinical implantation of the Advantage-C Ti3D, a 3D-printed titanium cervical cage. This procedure marks the commercial debut of the device, which features a specialized nanolattice structure designed to enhance bone integration while minimizing the metal footprint within the spine.

The device utilizes a scalloped wall architecture intended to maximize graft volume, a critical factor in successful cervical fusion. By incorporating micropores into the titanium frame, the design encourages both bony on-growth and through-growth, addressing common challenges in spinal stability. Dr. Hsu noted that the reduction in metal content serves a dual purpose: it improves post-operative visualization by minimizing imaging artifacts.

Clinicians are also focusing on the device's versatility. Dr. Ripul Panchal of the American NeuroSpine Institute highlighted the importance of the system's varied lordotic options, which allow for better customization in complex surgical cases. Amit Sinha, President of Intelivation Technologies, confirmed that the company is now shifting its focus toward collecting post-market clinical data to substantiate the performance of this technology across a broader patient population.
