The agreement tasks Veon with providing the financial backing and technical expertise required to build an AI-ready facility within the country. By housing this infrastructure locally, officials aim to reduce reliance on external providers and enhance the resilience of the nation’s digital services sector.

Economy Minister Oleksii Sobolev described the move as a critical milestone for Ukraine’s economic stability. The collaboration focuses on creating a robust domestic environment where high-performance computing can flourish, theoretically attracting further investment into the local tech ecosystem despite ongoing geopolitical instability.
