FactSet Shares Jump as AI Portfolio Analytics Reach Buy-Side Clients

Investors pushed FactSet Research Systems shares up 10% on Friday to $229.50, reacting to the financial data firm's integration of portfolio analytics into its AI-driven model context protocol. The expansion aims to streamline how buy-side professionals interact with complex risk and performance data through conversational interfaces.

FactSet Shares Jump as AI Portfolio Analytics Reach Buy-Side Clients

The new Portfolio Analytics MCP suite enables investment firms to pull performance, attribution, and risk data directly into private large language model environments. By offering pre-calculated, audit-ready metrics, FactSet intends to bypass the need for clients to manually rebuild their existing data pipelines to accommodate AI-powered workflows. The tool also supports natural language queries, allowing developers to construct proprietary applications more efficiently.

This release deepens the company’s push into AI-ready infrastructure, supplementing its previous offerings such as the Intelligent Document Service and vectorized data APIs. Despite the double-digit surge in today's trading, the company faces a challenging market backdrop, with the stock having shed nearly 50% of its value over the previous twelve months.
