Experience Kissimmee Launches Film Commission to Boost Local Production

Seeking to transform Osceola County into a hub for digital media and cinema, Experience Kissimmee has officially launched Film Kissimmee. The new commission aims to attract production crews to the region, leveraging the area's diverse landscapes to drive local economic growth and expand its footprint in the entertainment industry.

The initiative functions as a central resource for location managers and producers, providing access to an extensive digital database of over 100 documented sites. Nick Floyd, who currently serves as Manager of Video Production for Experience Kissimmee, has been appointed to lead the commission. His strategy focuses on bridging the gap between the region’s established tourism infrastructure and the specific logistical needs of film crews, ranging from natural wetlands and historic downtown streets to the area's vast inventory of vacation homes.

To facilitate these operations, the commission utilizes the Reel-Scout platform, allowing industry professionals to browse properties and production resources remotely. Beyond the creative output, the project targets tangible economic gains. By drawing production teams to the county, local officials anticipate increased demand for hospitality services, dining, and specialized equipment rentals. Future expansion plans include hosting familiarization tours for national producers and developing educational programs to integrate local business owners into the film production supply chain.
