The investment focuses on replacing the aging machine while simultaneously upgrading the infrastructure used to manufacture Angel Soft bath tissue. These technical improvements are designed to streamline operations across a facility that produces some of the company’s most recognizable consumer goods, including Quilted Northern, Brawny, and Sparkle.
By prioritizing this facility, Georgia-Pacific is reinforcing its manufacturing footprint in Florida. The move serves as a direct response to the shifting demands of the paper industry, where high-speed efficiency and modernized equipment are necessary to maintain market share. The Palatka mill remains a cornerstone of the company’s supply chain, and this transition marks a significant step in phasing out hardware that has been in continuous operation for over four decades.
